Tamil Nadu Chief Minister establishes a skill development centre for Healthcare Experts

It will allow a near graphic – archetype illustration and training facility to produce aspired competencies amidst healthcare workers.

THDNewsDesk: Thiru Edappadi K. Palaniswami, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, began the Tamil Nadu Apex Skill Development Centre for Healthcare (TNASDCHC) through an online inauguration gathering.

It is established, in an extended campus of 12500 sq. ft. located at Thiru Vi Ka Industrial Estate, Guindy, Chennai. The joint enterprise between Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC) and Kauvery Hospital will qualify, reskill and cross skill healthcare experts with updated knowledge that is appropriate for the effective and competent healthcare delivery.

Apart from these facilities, the training centre will have domain skill labs. It will allow a near graphic – archetype illustration and training facility to produce aspired competencies amidst healthcare workers extending to all the nursing staff, paramedical staff, ambulance operators, administrative staff and doctors.

The centre is a result of an MOU that was signed, on November 30, 2019. It was signed between the Government of Tamil Nadu and Kauvery Hospital to implement an updated skill training in hospital and healthcare services division. Following the Scheme – Tamil Nadu Investment Promotion Programme – Phase II, supported by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

Colonel R Alagarraj (Retd), Director Projects, discussed that the State would require personnel of 3.27 lakh healthcare professionals in the subsequent five years. TNASDC showed faith that the centre would assist as a synergist in connecting all the loose ends in the State of Tamil Nadu. It will also help in enhancing the skills of healthcare professionals in the State.

Dr Chandrakumar, Founder and Executive Chairman Kauvery Hospitals, declared that each part would be given equal significance, for practising at this centre.

TNASDC has acquired a wide range of learning format that incorporates technology so that trainees are all-time connected, to the content from anywhere. They can access it from any device or at any time conveniently. The simulation lab holds essential practical training.

TNASDC will also conduct online training to provide to the trainees’ requirement. Evaluation of proficiency will be based, on pre-course assessment, mid-course assessment and final assessment.
