THDNewsDesk: In a letter written to the Prime Minister of India, the All India Syringe & Needle Manufacturers Association (AISNMA) has vowed their full assistance for the imminent nationwide vaccination initiative against the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). AISNMA is reportedly the single nodal organisation for syringe manufacturers in India and has 19 members found across the country.
The organisation in its letter has reportedly proposed an extra capacity of over 350 million syringes per month to attend the entire charge for mass vaccination through domestic production. The letter records that this additional capacity has been already grown up by the organisation members, having witnessed the severe deficiency of masks and PPE kits faced by India and other countries globally earlier this year.
The organisation has further reassured the nation of becoming ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ on the availability of syringes, adding that if condition permits to assist the global population at this hour of emergency, “all the members are willing to take that challenge and strengthen the hands of our country leadership in this journey”.
The organisation has also promised to help the government and secure timely supplies across the nation in a coherent way during the vaccination program. The letter notifies, “We look forward to an opportunity to serve our country and humanity at this moment of crisis so that India emerges as a strong leader globally in a short period.”
A copy of the report has been shared to Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Pharmaceuticals and Niti Ayog.
