Apollo says the group was established in 1983 by Dr Prathap C Reddy, its Founder-Chairman. Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Limited is the group company named on the Apollo website, which reports over 10,000 beds across more than 74 hospitals.
The hospital page says it has over 60 departments. According to an Apollo press release of 25 April 2024, the flagship hospital, Apollo Greams Road, received its seventh consecutive accreditation from Joint Commission International. The release says the Chennai hospital’s JCI journey began in 2006 and that it completed its seventh reaccreditation in March 2024.
