THD NewsDesk, New Delhi: On November 19, Chief Minister Kejriwal announced the government’s decision to hold a meeting to discuss the Covid-19 situation in Delhi. In the forum, suggestions from members of all the political parties would be welcome. Namely, the leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party, Bharatiya Janata Party, and Congress have been invited to the all-party meeting. “The chief minister will hold an all-party meeting to discuss the Covid-19 situation in Delhi. The meeting will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday,” an official said.
The Delhi government has decided to convene this meeting to deliberate on possible measures to bring Covid cases under control. Since October 28, Delhi has been witnessing an unprecedented surge in cases. On November 5, the CM had admitted that this could mean the onset of the third wave of Covid pandemic in Delhi.
On November 11, all records were broken when the single-day rise in cases crossed the 8,000-mark. On November 17, Delhi recorded 6,396 fresh Covid-19 cases, taking the infection tally to over 4.95 lakh. Delhi government has become helpless in the face of an increasing number of fatalities. The city’s record of 104 deaths in a day is the highest in five months.
