Medirest is the specialist healthcare services division of Compass Group UK and Ireland, a role it says it has held for more than 30 years. It provides soft facilities management services to NHS Trusts, covering patient and resident catering, cleaning, logistics, portering, switchboard, helpdesk and security. Its sister brand, Medirest Signature, serves private hospitals and healthcare facilities.
The company says its teams clean more than 1.6 million square metres of hospital space and serve over six million meals each year, with more than 10,000 colleagues across the UK. Its patient dining range includes Steamplicity individually plated chilled meals, the Moreish multi-portion range and Esteem plated dishes, alongside freshly prepared meals. It reports a long-term contract with Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust covering patient catering, portering and retail, and catering teams at Watford General Hospital and Royal Surrey Hospital.
