TheNewsDesk: Zydus Cadila, a drug firm, has gotten final permission from the US health control to market Liothyronine Sodium tablets. These pills are used to medicate an underactive thyroid. Liothyronine is an artificial form of thyroid hormone used to heal an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism). It restores or produces more thyroid hormone, which is generally produced by the thyroid gland.
Zydus NSE -1.47 % Cadila has obtained final consent from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) to sell Liothyronine Sodium tablets USP, 5 mcg, 25 mcg, and 50 mcg, Cadila Healthcare stated in an administrative filing.
Zydus Cadila is a section of the Cadila Healthcare group. The company added that the drug would be produced at the group’s formulation production facility at the SEZ, Ahmedabad.
Since the filing method initiation in FY 2003-04, the group has 312 permits and has filed over 390 Abbreviated New Drug Applications (ANDAs).
