THD NewsDesk, New Delhi: The United States had been helping India in this fight for the second wave of Covid 19 Pandemic. And in an endeavour to help with medical supplies, a flight landed in India on Sunday carrying 1.25 lakh vials of an anti-viral drug Remdesivir.
Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted,
“4th flight from U.S.A. arrives carrying 1.25 lakh vials of Remdesivir. Welcome this support from the United States.”
Another flight from the US arrived in India carrying 1,000 oxygen cylinders, regulators and other medical equipment.
According to a statement by the White House announced that the United States will be aiding India with medical supplies worth more than 100 million US dollars to fight the deadly second wave of Covid 19 Pandemic.
Under the immediate emergency Covid-19 Assistance, Washington is providing 1700 oxygen concentrators, an initial delivery of 1,100 cylinders, multiple large-scale Oxygen Generation Units to support up to 20 patients each, to India.
Moreover, the country has also given up their own AstraZeneca Covid 19 vaccine supplies to provide assistance to India fighting hard to contain this second wave.
Along with the United States, many other countries like the United Kingdom and Russia has also extended help to support India in controlling the paramount amount of cases it is seeing everyday.
