The wider digital health picture
The milestone adds to other national digital health figures. In a release on 30 May 2026, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), run by the National Health Authority, had passed 90 crore Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts, the 14-digit digital health IDs that let citizens link and share records with consent, and listed the mission’s other registries and exchanges, including the Health Facility Registry, the Healthcare Professionals Registry and the National Health Claims Exchange. Women held 49.75 per cent of those accounts, according to the release.
Our reading
Analysis by The Healthcare Daily.
- The addition of specialist outpatient sessions from AIIMS institutes takes the public platform beyond primary-care triage and into specialist teleconsultation, which widens its overlap with the outpatient and telehealth services of private hospital groups.
- An AI decision support tool open to 2,41,923 registered providers puts clinical AI in front of a large public-sector user base. Without published validation or approval details, suppliers and hospital buyers have no public benchmark from it yet.
- With women making up 57.14 per cent of use and four in ten consultations involving people aged 46 or older, payers and chronic-care providers have a large public channel whose users match their priority groups, but no cost or outcome data with which to judge it.
