THDNewsDesk, New Delhi: India has one of the least numbers of COVID-19 deaths as 81 per million population in the world. From October 4, the number of fatalities registered is less than 1000. On Friday, The Union Health Ministry stated that the death rate of 1.52 percent was the least from March 22. These results have been advanced by 22 states and Union Territories that have shown better execution and are recording lesser fatalities per million population compared to the national average.
The Ministry emphasized that “The Covid-19 case fatality rate has been on the slide continuously. At the current figure of 1.52 percent, it is the lowest since March 22.”
Thirteen states and Union Territories, including Puducherry (403), Maharashtra (335), Goa (331), Delhi (317), Karnataka (152), Tamil Nadu (135), and Punjab (131), had fatalities per million population exceeding the national average.
As part of the Covid-19 control and reaction policy, the Ministry stated that the Centre’s attention has been on checking the spread of the infection, decreasing fatalities, and protecting lives by rendering quality clinical care to the crucial patients.
Collective efforts of the Centre, States, and Union Territories have emerged in robust health facilities across the nation.
In total, 2,212 Covid specialized hospitals have been rendering essential medical care. The Centre has also published a set of guidelines ensuring the standardized quality of medical care for all covid patients in both government and private conditions.
AIIMS, New Delhi, took a step to increase the ICU doctors’ potentials in the clinical supervision of critical patients towards decreasing the deaths through e-ICU.
On Friday, India recorded higher recoveries than the new cases. The statistics recorded show that 70,338 people have recovered in 24 hours contrarily to 63,371 new disease cases.
The whole number of recoveries has mounted to 64,53,779 and surpassed active cases of Covid-19 by 56,49,251.
The Ministry emphasized, “Recovered cases are eight times more than active cases which are sliding continuously. Presently, active cases comprise merely 10.92 percent of the total cases.”
The general recovery rate has increased to 87.56 percent.
The Ministry stated that 78 percent of the new recuperated cases are present in ten different states and Union territories. Maharashtra only has provided the highest exceeding 13,000 single-day recoveries.
With 79 percent of the new viruses are from 10 states and Union territories. Maharashtra proceeds to record more than 10,000 cases regularly, succeeded by Karnataka exceeding 8,000 in number.
Nearly 82 percent of the 895 deaths reported in 24 hours are from UTs of Maharashtra, Karnataka, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Odisha, and Delhi, the Ministry said.
Maharashtra has recorded 337 deaths, which consist of over 37 percent of the new casualties.
