Russia starts voluntary mass vaccination against Covid-19

Russia plans to manufacture 2 million vaccine shots within the ensuing few days, Putin announced.

THD NewDesk, New Delhi: President Vladimir Putin directed Russian officials on Wednesday to start voluntary mass Covid-19 vaccinations in the subsequent week as Russia reported 589 new daily mortalities from the coronavirus disease.

Russia plans to manufacture 2 million vaccine shots within the ensuing few days, Putin announced. Russia announced last month that its Sputnik V jab proved to be 92% efficient at shielding individuals from Covid-19 as per the interim outcomes.

“Let’s agree on this — you will not report to me next week, but you will start mass vaccination…let’s get to work already,” Putin informed the Deputy Prime Minister Tatiana Golikova. Golikova claimed that large-scale immunisation might commence voluntarily in December.
