Raman & Weil Pvt. Ltd. was established in 1989 by the late Pravin R. Shah and supplies disinfectants and antiseptics for use in hospitals, clinics, medical facilities and pharmaceutical and industrial manufacturing units. It describes itself as the sole representative of BODE Chemie, Hamburg, the maker of the Sterillium alcohol hand rub and a wholly owned subsidiary of PAUL HARTMANN AG since 2009, and cites an exclusive collaboration of 33 years.
The company sells a mix of imported and domestically manufactured products. It says it has four manufacturing units, with facilities at Daman audited and accredited as per WHO GMP, ISO 13485 and Schedule M guidelines, and that its reach extends to more than 20,000 hospitals and nursing homes in India and about 100 pharmaceutical companies. It also runs infection control training covering hand hygiene, antimicrobial resistance and surface, instrument and skin disinfection. Its office is at Nariman Point, Mumbai.
