THD NewsDesk, NEW YORK, USA: Thanking India for its cooperation in its fight against the coronavirus pandemic, the U.S. State Department on September 30 lauded India as a crucial partner. The U.S. officials proclaimed US-India relationship as the most incredible model of constructive global cooperation, labelling it as the “most important partnerships in the world”.
“India has been an important partner for the United States since the early days of the pandemic when countries were desperate for factual information about the virus and searching for personal protective equipment and other medical supplies,”
a senior U.S. State Department official said while briefing on the ‘US-India Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership’.
“Looking forward to the next six months and beyond. We know that our continued close cooperation with India will be an important part of the global recovery from the pandemic,” the U.S. official said, adding on the strengths of US-India friendly alliance.

“American company, Gilead has granted voluntary non-exclusive licensing agreements to Indian pharmaceutical companies to produce a generic form of remdesivir,” according to the State Department official. The license agreement has been provided to 95 developing and under-developed countries, including India.
Presently, India boasts of producing an enormous amount of vaccines by volume with the Serum Institute of India being the world’s largest vaccine manufacturer. The Serum Institute has been mass-producing vaccines for assisting the low and middle-income countries.
Expressing India’s commitment to the cause, Prime Minister Modi has pledged to offer unconditional assistance to nations innovating potential coronavirus vaccines worldwide.
