Bengaluru-based Centre for Advanced Research and Development, the research wing of Organisation De Scalene, has got the USFDA, EU nod for manufacturing device that can kill coronavirus after testing for safety.
Bengaluru: The research wing of Organisation De Scalene, Centre Advanced Research and Development (CARD) in Bengaluru has come up with a device that claims to neutralise the coronavirus. The device is called SHYCOCAN or Scalene Hypercharge Corona Canon and will be manufactured and marketed in the US under the Enforcement Discretion policy of USFDA and in Europe as the device is CE compliant and is CE marked.
Chairman of Organisation De Scalene Dr Rajah Vijay Kumar told news agency ANI that the device can neutralise the coronavirus particles, though it will not kill any bacteria or fungi. The device will cover a volume of 10,000 cubic feet.
“The device was tested for its safety and efficacy and is soon going to be manufactured and marketed in the US under the Enforcement Discretion policy of USFDA and in Europe as the device is CE compliant and is CE marked,” Dr Kumar said.
SHYCOCAN is designed for active containment by attenuation of corona family of viruses and is intended to be used in a residential, industrial and commercial environment. The device does not use any chemicals or other consumables and does not produce harmful ozone gas or any other substances. It is completely safe for use in any environment, according to Dr Kumar.
