- 3,81,305 inoculated, 580 adverse events reported since the nationwide immunization started on January 16
- 1,48,266 beneficiaries were vaccinated across 25 states and Union territories till 5 pm on Monday.
- Vaccine beneficiaries who had suffered adverse effects are stable, few under observation
THD NewsDesk, New Delhi: Addressing a press brief, Health Ministry’s Additional Secretary Manohar Agnani said a population of over 3 lakhs has so far been vaccinated for coronavirus in India. On January 19, the third day of the massive Covid immunization drive, 3,81,305 people have been inoculated, and 580 adverse events following immunization were reported. Out of these, only seven required hospitalization.
Till 5 PM on Monday, 1,48,266 beneficiaries were vaccinated across 25 states and Union territories.
“A total of 3,81,305 beneficiaries have so far been vaccinated (till 5 pm on Monday) as per provisional reports,” he said.
Giving state-wise data, he informed that out of the 1,48,266 people who were administered the vaccine on Monday:
- 8,656 were from Bihar
- 1,822 from Assam
- 36,888 from Karnataka
- 7,070 from Kerala
- 6,665 from Madhya Pradesh
- 7,628 from Tamil Nadu
- 10,352 from Telangana
- 11,588 from West Bengal and
- 311 were from Delhi
Further, Agnani explained that the AEFI cases were not severe and most of the people hospitalized are stable now. In Delhi, three people were hospitalized, two of whom have been discharged. Although one person experienced fainting, they are now under observation at Max Hospital, Patparganj. Similarly, one other vaccine beneficiary is still under observation at AIIMS Rishikesh in Uttarakhand. While in Chhattisgarh, one beneficiary is still under observation, two hospitalizations were reported in Karnataka.
