THD NewsDesk, New Delhi: According to a state-run media report, the government of China has approved a total of 16 locally-made Covid-19 vaccines for clinical trials, of which six are already in the third last stage of its trail.
These locally made vaccines are based on ‘adenovirus vector, recombinant protein, nucleic acid and influenza-viruses technologies’ as reported on Sunday by state-run Xinhua News Agency. However, the actual data about the vaccines were quoted by National Medical Products Administration upon which many services rely for updates about the vaccines.
It further said “Six out of the 16 vaccines are in the third stage of the trails, which is the last phase for the same”
Meanwhile, China has already given conditional approval to the two inactivated Covid-19 vaccines made by Sinopharm and Sinovac Biotect; the state-owned developers.
Citing data from National Medical Products Administration, Xinhua reported “The Covid-19 has claimed around 4,833 lives, in additional 100,727 confirmed cases in China according to John Hopkins University”. It further reports “As of February 9, 40.52 million Covid-19 jabs were given to key groups”.
